New Zealand Transport
New Zealand is one of the
more popular destinations in the world today. It's
beautiful, compact, inexpensive and features a diverse
range of attractions from towering snow capped mountains
to pristine beaches. Getting around New Zealand is easy
-- most roads are sealed, the signs are in English, and
a very efficient tourism infrastructure caters to
travellers.
Getting off the tourist path is tougher but here at
Airport
Car Hire New Zealand we recommend you stay on the sealed
roads in your hire car from Airport Car Hire and enjoy
everything there is to see and do.
You can cross the 83-kilometre sea between the North and
South Islands by "Interislander" ferry (trip time - 3
hours) or on the faster "Lynx" catamaran taking just
over 2 hours. Foot passengers and vehicles are both
welcome. If you're renting a vehicle, avoid the pricey
auto fare by leaving your car/motor home on one side and
picking up another on the other shore. Both sides have
shuttles to local towns and train stations. Try to make
the trip during daylight hours to see the Cook Strait's
fantastic scenery.
A unique way to take in some of the most beautiful
scenery in the world is to view it from a helicopter at
300 metres above the ground. True exhilaration and the
best view in the house.
