Getting to New Zealand

Getting to New Zealand takes a bit of planning. If you're travelling from the Northern Hemisphere, New Zealand can seem to be a long way away from everywhere but worth the journey.

From Asian countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo, flights take app. 10 hours.

New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to see the new day being 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In summer New Zealand enjoys daylight saving with clocks being put forward one hour to GMT+13. Daylight saving begins on the first Sunday in October and ends on the third Sunday of the following March when clocks are returned to the original time
